Alexander Daniels Offshore is working with a business based in Guernsey to recruit a Category Manager.


  • Creation of an annual Category Marketing Plan to include new products, product development, campaigns etc.
  • Collate insights from market and industry reports
  • Work with a team to mine key consumer insights and develop a deep understanding of consumer needs to direct marketing communications strategy
  • Conduct line by line review of current product performance, identifying category opportunities (product range gap analysis), inhibitors and risks
  • Liaise with the marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities to drive category sales
  • Allocate, review and set budgets and revenue targets for the category
  • Ensure that all marketing departments and relevant stakeholders are properly engaged and consulted in the development of the category strategy and marketing plan
  • Ongoing promotional sales/voucher activity review and implementation
  • Internal briefings to internal functions for both new products and existing
  • Internal communications business wide regarding any news or changes
  • Budget maintenance, ensuring that it is kept up to date
  • Develop and oversee the marketing schedule, ensuring that tactics are delivered on time, optimised and to budget
  • Deliver quarterly updates to key internal stakeholders on the progress of the category’s commercial performance
  • Work with brand marketing teams to ensure appropriate packaging and marketing designs
  • Set targets and financial outcomes for new products
  • Work with regulatory/compliance and quality teams to ensure products comply with relevant legislation
  • Any other duties that may be required and assist with projects within the wider marketing team, across different channels.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ marketing experience
  • Possess a full understanding of marketing principles, both traditional and digital

  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
