28 Feb Get to know Sarah…
Director, Sarah, has a love for ice cold G&Ts, tattoos and an affinity for cushions… she’s also a pretty big fan of AD Offshore, too 😉
Q: What skill would you like to master?
To be a professional dancer.
Q: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
I have a background in learning and development, so career advice is definitely my strong suit, to see if there’s anything suitable in the market place – or sometimes, just to talk!
Q: Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?
My colleague, but also, one of my best friends, Andréa. She came to me when AD Offshore first launched and wanted me to find her a new job – she was compliance background but wanted something different. I instantly thought of her for the AD Offshore team; she’s friendly, approachable, extremely well organised and loves to meet people. Two years on and she’s been the perfect fit for the team!
Q: How do you relax after a hard day of work?
What’s that? (haha!) I have two boys, so once I’m finished at AD, my second job starts; consisting of the school run and drop off at after-school clubs, etc… If I have the time, a sneaky G&T is always a winner…
Q: What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
Making a difference!
Q: Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
Ayres Rock in Australia
Q: What’s the best thing that happened to you last month?
I placed someone in their dream job!
Q: What city would you most like to live in?
Sydney
Q: What are you addicted to?
An ice-cold G&T, oh, and shopping 😊
Q: What irrational fear do you have?
Eels… they disgust me and I could never dive in case I came face to face with one, eek!
Q: What would you do with a million pounds?
Buy a new house – I need a bigger garden to hold some football goals for the boys… and go backpacking with the boys.
Q: What were some of the turning points in your life?
Travelling, the best medicine anyone needs, to experience different cultures, meet amazing people, and to have that freedom! Getting married and starting a family. But, the most was reaching 40, I was working at the GTA at the time and we had the most amazing course delivered by Royston Guest. He honestly changed my life, my mindset and really believing in ME and what I could achieve and then out of the blue, I received the best phone call ever, from an old friend that used to live and work in Guernsey, that call was from Andy Partlow, asking me if I wanted to be involved in a brand new start-up business, namely AD Offshore, and yes you guessed it, the answer was YES!
Q: If you could have a video of any one event in your life, what event would you choose?
My wedding day – ☹
Q: What’s your favourite piece of clothing you own / owned?
Mmmm that is difficult as I love all of my clothes! But I think it has to be my All Saint’s leather jacket.
Q: What hobby would you get into if time wasn’t an issue?
I love to sew, so to be able to make an item of clothing would be great.
Q: What are some small things that make your day better?
Receiving a fresh coffee in bed every morning from my husband before he heads off to work! Receiving news that I’ve got an offer for a candidate, and receiving feedback or a gift from a candidate for finding them their dream job!
Q: What’s the best way to start the day?
Coffee or a run at the weekends.
Q: What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Eating some delicious food, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors.
Q: What’s your claim to fame?
I used to live and work in Greece in the 90’s and worked for a company called ‘Sunsail’, we used to get loads of famous people coming out for holidays and I once babysat Dermot Murnaghan’s children and had dinner with him and his family, he was very nice!

Thailand… before children!
