Get to know Andréa…

Andrea PearsonMeet Andréa, better known as Foo, recruiter extraordinaire and our resident crazy cat lady…

Q: What skill would you like to master?
Definitely yoga!
Q: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
Recipe ideas, I’m a whizz in the kitchen! And, of course, a new job, naturally!
Q: How do you relax after a hard day of work?
As soon as I get home I like to roll about with my kitten, Cee Cee Ramone and inhale her heavenly fur and then me and my hubby make dinner together whilst pounding a nice glass of wine.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
Retirement! No, I jest! I am excited to be a part of the continuing growth of AD Offshore (and transforming my home into a cat haven!)
Q: Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
Cape Town, South Africa. The views, the food, the wine, the shopping… just everything about it!
Q: What’s the best thing that happened to you last month?
I finally paid off a personal loan that I’ve had (and topped up and consolidated over and over) since I was about 20!
Q: What city would you most like to live in?
Sydney, Australia (Editor’s Note: I think Andréa and Sarah are planning something here…)
Q: What are you addicted to?
Lip balm. Kittens. Shopping on eBay. Sniffing my husband’s curls. Coffee. Gin. Wine. Not necessarily in that order.
Q: What irrational fear do you have?
Belly buttons. And my entire family dying if I don’t set the TV volume to an even number.
Q: What would you do with a million pounds?
I’d start with honourable intentions of something sensible like paying off our mortgage. Then I’d change my mind and go off on the most luxurious of holidays that would never, ever end.
Q: What were some of the turning points in your life?
Getting married, getting a house and getting a kitten (wait does that sound like I’m getting old?)
Q: If you could have a video of any one event in your life, what event would you choose?
Luckily I have it! Our wedding day in Vegas with our parents and all our bestest pals (and Elvis, who sang The Wonder of Foo as I sashayed down the aisle)
Q: What’s your favourite piece of clothing you own / owned?
A 1970s vintage dress from France
Q: What hobby would you get into if time wasn’t an issue?
Paddle-boarding and being a kitten foster mother.
Q: What are some small things that make your day better?
Sunshine, Cee Cee and peppermint tea. (And lip balm and curls)
Q: What’s the best way to start the day?
Cee Cee and coffee (and curls).
Q: What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Mooching through a new town, city or beach spot with my best boy by my side and the sun shining on our smiling upturned faces.
Q: What’s your claim to fame?
Paul Young saved my life! (He’s a singer from the 80s and he used to live in Guernsey and was well fit).
Q: What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
A presentation? For 40 minutes? In front of people?? ARE YOU MENTAL?
Q: Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been?
Goa, India.
Q: What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
Landing myself my dream job, here at AD, I’ve literally never been more relaxed or stress-free!
Q: Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
I got talked into it by Sarah and Steve and I figured that if you work with folks you are fond of, it’s not really work. (I was RIGHT!)
Q: What’s your favourite food
Cote de boeuf, please
Q: What’s your favourite drink
GIN & TONIC SUPERSONIC!
