Creature Comforts

Creature Comforts was founded in 2011 by Michelle Botes, after working 20 years in the finance industry. In an age of contactless and online shopping, Creature Comforts aim is to offer good, old fashioned personal service with a smile and that approach has earned the family-owned business a nomination for the Customer Service of the Year Award. Ms Botes said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be nominated for this award. I really love my job, so to be acknowledged in this way is just fabulous. I really couldn’t do it without the rest of the team though, they’re the best.”

Bougourd and Harry

Founded in 1925, Bougourd and Harry is one of Guernsey’s oldest retail businesses. Established by current owner Alan Bougourd’s grandfather, before his father took over in 1955, the shop provided much of the infrastructure for the island’s once flourishing growing industry, as that industry shrank, the store became the primary source of income which remains a firm favourite with locals to this very day. On being nominated for the Alexander Daniels-sponsored Customer Service of the Year Award, Mr Bougourd said: “We are very pleased, delighted. It is lovely to know that our customers appreciate us and what we do. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff.”
